ICCS Hires Sports Veteran as Middle School Athletic Director, Head Basketball Coach

Seasoned coach Julia Turner has been hired in the newly created position of middle school athletic director and will also serve as  head girls basketball coach.  Ms. Turner comes to ICCS with a wealth of sports experience as both a coach and a player.  She was formerly head basketball coach for LeMoyne-Owen College for two years, where she also served four years as head women's volleyball coach.     

She was a player in the NWBL semi-pro league and was invited to try out for the WNBA's Orlando Magic and the Indiana Fever. "Julia's experience is a perfect fit for us," campus athletic director Mike Simpson said. "She's extremely enthusiastic and will really connect with and motivate our student athletes.  She can help take our arthletic program to another level. I'm thrilled to have her on board."
