In a July 16 letter to school parents, ICCS interim principal Chad Stevens stated the school will offer parents a choice of distance or on-campus learning for their children. "Some families have expressed concerns about sending their child back to campus on August 11," Stevens said. "Each parent is responsible for the safety of their own child and should certainly do what they feel is best for their child. We at ICCS are responsible for the safety and well-being of all of the children enrolled here. Therefore, we have made the decision to offer to those parents uncomfortable returning to campus the option of distant learning."
Parents have by August 3 to submit an online form indicating which option they choose. The 2020-21 school year is scheduled to begin with a half day on August 11.
