ICCS Upper School students used their assembly period on Aug. 31 to support Emma's Art Cart, winner of the 2017 Jefferson Awards LEAD360 Project. A national organization, the mission of Emma's Art Cart is to facilitiate expressive emotional healing through art and creative expression for those who are living in grief, pain, stress and fear. The organization was formed to honor the wishes of Emma Stumpf, a young, terminal cancer patient who hoped to provide a creative diversion for other bedridden children recovering from serious illnesses. ICCS students created kits containing art supplies as well as motivational notes they wrote for patients at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.
