Students Celebrate May Crowning Ceremony

Immaculate Conception Cathedral School students celebrated the annual May Crowning tradition in a ceremony led by Cathedral Pastor Fr. Robert Szczechura on Thursday, May 6.

Two 8th-graders who recently received the sacrament of Confirmation had the honor of placing the crown of flowers on statues of the Blessed Mother. Jackson Dress crowned the statue inside the Cathedral during the school Mass; following Mass, Fr. Szczechura led a procession to the Cathedral Center courtyard, where Annalise Henley crowned the statue of the Blessed Mother.

Jackson and Annalise were accompanied by 2nd-graders Massey Grace Fuchs and Isaac Miller, both of whom recently received their First Communion.

Retired principal Karen Gephart provided piano music for the courtyard ceremony, accompanied in song by ICCS alumna Cecelia Hartney.
